Just like Jaya, the wedding was magical because it brought everyone closer together than ever. I remember Mausami and I constantly Skyping about dances, even during Hurricane Irma!
And who can forget the inaugural days of Ladies Sangeet Conference!! Still going strong…
Mausami really struggled to make it to Dallas upright lugging at least 200 pounds of lehengas…
But luckily we had an amazing Uber driver to transport us anywhere we needed to go!
We tried and more often than not failed to appear dignified to new members of the family.
Because who else can you be your wild crazy self with if not family?
One of my favorite moments was getting a Mani pedi with all the ladies! Even though I was working it was still such a fun time. Especially when Mom insisted that the champagne at the establishment was too subpar for her daughter in law’s bridal celebrations and went with Mausami to get some of the good stuff at the shop next door! (And we were all really thankful!)
Shovaen was so dedicated to learning all these dances and so was Yash! It was great to see everyone get a little more into our culture and Bollywood! (Or Bollywoof for Kylo!)
At one point we had 3 physicians making pom poms! That's how much love there was at this wedding.
And of course, we can't forget the dance practices which were an amazing opportunity for cousins of every generation to bond.
I was having way too much fun to take many pictures at the wedding but one of my favorite moments was our ladies Sangeet conference on the bathroom during the reception with me, Jaya, and Mausami. It was a true sister bonding moment and I'm so happy that there have been so many more since and will be even more to come!
Jaya, you're such an amazing soul and I’m so grateful you are a part of our family. You're one of the most patient and generous people I know, and a whole lot of fun to boot! Love you so much and happy anniversary!!!
