Driving your car to go with Rajan to the local Nordstrom Rack to buy his new suit, since he had forgotten to bring one for the reception, and trying to convince him to buy a nicer one. I think we combined a liquor run and suit run into one.
Having to go back to pick it up the day of the wedding between ceremony and reception. And then also picking up In 'n Out for Jenny and the kids. And then cutting the time very close.
All the practices for the dance. I started out frustrated but eventually realized it was a ton of fun. Was a great way to hang out with everyone. I feel like there was late night pizza involved but I could be wrong.
On the dance practice I remember endless attempts to get the Bruno Mars moves right, going so far as to put the video on computer in front of us, flipping the perspective so you could literally mirror the moves in stead of having to convert right to left on the fly. That was key!!
Hanging out at Jack's house, drinking Johnny Walker Blue for the mehndhi night! Amazing. Enjoying the great food, which was the first of many great meals.
Seeing all the little kiddos together at the mehndhi night, and hanging with Ketan...he was so cute. Missing the 3 year old stage (Kieran was already 6).
The food stations at the Sangeet were amazing!! What a great idea. I tried everything and was about to explode at the end. Doing raas with the kids. Was great to have Lilah, Charlie and Kieran get to experience that.
The realization that you had a full scale Hollywood movie crew at the wedding. That was a moment. Then seeing the amazing video they put together for the reception. Just great.
Your uncle the magician!!! He literally blew my mind. Kids loved him. I'm pretty sure I loved him more. And Punit wanted to marry him.
My kids forcing me to buy them stuffed animals from the hotel gift shop. And Charlie getting some fidget spinner that was way overpriced and later determined by Jenny to be from China so he wasn't even allowed to take it out of the box.
Kids riding escalators like it was the greatest ride ever invented. Up down up down up down.
Beautiful ceremony. Jaya looked stunning. You looked passable and lucky to have her!!
Meeting Jaya at the mehndhi night! Didn't get much time because it's so busy but she was so nice, and could tell she would fit right into Cousins 1!
Dancing at the wedding! So much fun. Was the first Indian wedding that we really kept the kids up late, and they partied up a storm. The only sad note was that Charlie tired out a little early and Jenny took him up to bed just before Darth Vader's arrival, so he missed the chance to meet Vader and his Storm Troopers. But Lilah, Kieran and I hung out with him which was so cool.
After party! I crushed that thing like no other 41 year old ever could. Jus sayin'.
Also remember Punit and I getting life lessons from Jack. I loved hearing how much he adored Jaya and she truly is his princess. Adorable. Also, what to do with your money: 1/3 to the government. 1/3 to your wife's account, to be saved. 1/3 to spend on your family. If you don't know how to spend, why would you ever learn to make money? Loved hanging with Jack again at Shalu's wedding.
Sad to leave. But I regaled everyone who would listen to me for the next few months with detailed descriptions of how much fun and how well planned and how great Jaya and Shovaen's wedding was!
Congratulations we love you guys!
