A big congratulations on your anniversary. Alex and I had a great time. We arrived that Friday evening on the 22nd to the hotel. This was Alex’s first time to Texas, being from the UK, and he discovered that everything is bigger. Also hotter. The evening ceremony was particularly enjoyable, just to watch Justin dance with the other best men. The food was very tasty, and I discovered that I intensely dislike betel nut. I thought that was candy, and it’s definitely not candy. Thank you for the life experience. We spent most of the weekend catching up with Justin, Annie, Chris, and Rebecca. I’ve not seen either since our WoW and Mardi Gras days.
The next morning’s dancing through the parking lot was fun. Also warm. The mango juice refresher was very much appreciated. We were seated a bit farther back, so I don’t remember much of the ceremony, but I do remember the two of you stepping on some things together, as well as walking around a fire. Also a knot being tied around your arms. It seemed a bit more heavy duty than a ring. I don’t really remember much of what we did during the day before the evening reception. We probably drank a bit.
The evening ceremony was nice, and we liked the food. We spent quite a fair amount of time with Justin, Annie, Chris, and Rebecca. Thankfully there was no betel nut in a leaf. Also, the stormtroopers/Darth Vader entrance was a very nice touch. It’s good to know that even during these rebellious times, the Empire takes care of the important things.
After that evening, Alex and I drove down to Austin and took a mini vacation.
I hope you’re both enjoying married life! Congratulations again, and I wish you many more years of happiness.
Cheers,
Evan
